Israel holds a Palestinian prisoner in very hard conditions of detention

Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs Commission stated that the Israeli occupation authorities held Emad Sawarka, who has been on an open hunger strike for 34 days in Ashkelon prison, under very hard conditions.

"Sawarka suffers from fatigue, pains in the belly, head, and stomach, and difficulty in drinking water," the Commission said and noted that he lost 12 kg weight.

It mentioned that the isolation cell Sawarka lies in is very bad, lacks ventilation and cleanness, narrow, and full of insects.

It noted that 4 prisoners in the Israeli prisons are on an open hunger strike; 3 of them reject their administrative detention.
