Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political office of Hamas,  phoned Mahmoud Abbas on Monday and discussed several issues. 

Haniyeh said in a statement that they talked about the development of elections and the national mutual efforts made on the level of the national dialogue or preparations. 

He confirmed three elements that constituted the current scene; political decision, factions' decision and national will via registration, and democratic climate via lists and regional incubator. 

Haniyeh confirmed that they must keep moving forward and complete the electoral process in its three levels; legislative, presidential, and the national council. 

The speech focused on the importance of the conduct of elections in Jerusalem and considered it a battle, and not giving the Israeli occupation a chance to disrupt the process.
