Ahmed Alhajj Ali, MP for Hamas in the legislative council, said that the current events in Jerusalem confirm that the national spirit is at very high levels.

He said in a statement on Sunday that all Israeli plans could not melt this national spirit.

He stated that Jerusalem is the center of the world, and mentioned that women of Jerusalem could do more than what men did.

"If the city's land could speak, you would find under each stone a martyr's drop. Men of Jerusalem know when to say no as they have a spirit of rebelliousness," Alhajj Ali said.

"With their courage, they said no to the Israeli occupation, to Zionism, and to changing the Arabic-Islamic reality in Jerusalem," he said.

He noted that the sparks spread in Jerusalem's streets and alleys indicate the Palestinian power and greatness.

He stated that all Israeli practices against our Palestinian people will be confronted, confirming that the Palestinian people are ready to sacrifice their families, money, homes, prisoners, and martyrs to protect their holy places and beliefs.

"I hope that the Palestinian people ignite an intifada to support Jerusalem and its people," he ended.
