Jad, the brother of the prisoner Imad Swarka, 37, who is hunger-striking, from Jericho, confirmed that his brother is in Ashkelon prison, and they have not received any information about his health condition for about 10 days due to the inability of lawyers to visit him.
Sawarka added in an interview with the Prisoners' Radio that his brother has been on hunger strike for 41 days to demand an end to the arbitrary administrative detention policy against him, and he has been isolated in the cells of Ashkelon in harsh conditions.
He explained that Israel aims, behind isolating Imad and procrastinating in response to his demands, to break his will and to pressure him to break his strike.
Swarka family expressed deep concern for Imad's life after his health deteriorated in recent days due to the strike that has continued for about a month and a half and there is no dialogue with the prison administration regarding ending his strike.
The prisoner's brother appealed to all human rights institutions that did not act during the period of his strike to fulfill their responsibilities and to take immediate and serious action for his release.
Swarka, who is married and has five children, was re-arrested in July of the last year, and an administrative detention order was issued against him, and it was renewed twice, knowing that he was an ex-prisoner who had spent about 10 years in the Israeli prisons.
