A senior Hamas official has stated that all Israeli prisoners in Gaza could be released in one comprehensive agreement, if there is an international guarantee to end what Palestinians widely regard as a genocide unfolding in the enclave.
Sami Abu Zuhri, speaking to Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV, reaffirmed that Hamas is prepared for a large-scale release of prisoners but only within the framework of a credible, internationally backed cessation of Israeli military aggression.
The situation in Gaza remains catastrophic. Humanitarian aid sites have become scenes of horror, with Israeli forces reportedly attacking crowds waiting for basic supplies. Since late May, nearly 400 Palestinians have been killed while queuing for food, according to medical sources. Thousands more have been wounded, as the health system collapses under the weight of war and blockade.
Abu Zuhri also warned of broader regional destabilisation amid Israel’s ongoing military operations against Iran, expressing solidarity with what he called “those resisting Zionist expansionism.” He urged the United States to avoid further entanglement, warning that any interference would fuel greater instability across the Middle East.
Palestinians continue to appeal for a just resolution, one that halts the bloodshed and brings an end to the siege that has left Gaza starving, suffocating, and shattered.
