Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney said that his country is following with concern "the violence in East Jerusalem, and the threat of eviction in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood."

In his tweet, Coveney called for the halt of evictions and demolitions carried out by the Israeli authorities.

"I urge Israel to reverse its decision on construction in Har Homa. Settlements are illegal under international law & undermine prospects for peace and the two-state solution," he wrote.
