Israel sentences prisoner from Ramallah to 28 months imprisonment and a fine

The Israeli military court Ofer sentenced the prisoner, Mutassim Al-Sheikh Yousef, from Al-Jalazun refugee camp, north of Ramallah, to 28 months imprisonment and a fine of 6000 Israeli shekels.

The Asra Media Office stated that the Israeli forces arrested Al-Sheikh Youssef on July 1, 2019, after storming his family’s house, destroying its contents under the pretext of searching, and transferred him to the investigation at the Ofer Center, where he continued for a month, during which he was denied access to a lawyer or representative of the Red Cross.

The Israeli intelligence charged him with incitement, participating in hostile activities and posing a threat to the security of Israel, and the intention to harm the Israeli soldiers. After postponing his trial 15 times, the Israeli court sentenced him to 28 months imprisonment, of which he has spent 24 months so far.
