Hamas condemned on Thursday the assassination of the political activist and parliamentary candidate Nezar Banat at the hands of the Palestinian Authority's security forces. 

Sami Abo Zuhri, a member of Hamas' political office, considered the assassination of Banat a reflection of the Palestinian's bloody policy.

Abu Zhuri called for holding the killers into accountability, considering the Prime Minister of Palestine Mohammed Shtayyeh responsible for the crime. 

Nezar Banat was killed today morning after being arrested by the security forces from his home in southern Hebron. 

His family stated that what happened with Nezar is a premeditated assassination as he was hardly beaten. As a result, he lost consciousness.

"When he woke up, They arrested him naked and transferred him into an unknown place by 25 members of the security forces," the family said. 

They called for forming an investigation committee to prove the assassination of Nezar Banat. 

Banat had previously said that several security forces raided his home on Saturday, fired guns, broke doors, and threw bombs inside the home.

Banat was arrested 8 times in the light of his activities against .corruption
