Minor stability in the condition of prisoner Iyad Hrebat

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee said that there has been a slight improvement in the health of the prisoner, Iyad Hrebat, 39, from the village of Saka, Dura district, south of Hebron, but he still urgently needs medical care for his condition.

In a statement that reached Safa on Sunday, the authority said that the occupation authorities are currently holding the prisoner Hrebat in the emergency department of the Israeli Soroka Hospital, under anesthesia and artificial respiration devices.

It pointed out that the health status of the prisoner, Hrebat, had recently deteriorated sharply while he was in Raymond prison, where he developed acute prostatitis, which led to the problem of urinary retention.

Herbat underwent a difficult and complex surgy, so he was in dire need, but the occupation prisons administration returned him to the prison despite his need to stay in the hospital, which led to a dangerous deterioration of his condition and his entry into a critical stage.

Moreover, the prisoner, Hrebat, was previously subjected to a medical crime by the occupation prisons administration after it was suspected that he had been exposed to a contaminated injection in 2014, which led to a bacterial spread inside his body.

In 2017, Heribat was sprayed with a poisonous gas that caused burns to his body during a crackdown on prisoners in Raymond prison.

He also suffered from a neurological disease, which caused him to tremble in his body, problems with speech, difficulty in movement, and temporary memory loss. The administration of the occupation detention centers did not provide the necessary treatment for him at the time and greatly neglected his situation.

The prisoner, Hrebat, has been detained since September 21, 2002, and is sentenced to life imprisonment and 20 years.
