Al-Hadmi: Israel demolishes 62 buildings in Jerusalem since the beginning of 2021

Jerusalem Affairs Minister Fadi al-Hadmi said that the Israeli occupation authorities have demolished more than 62 buildings in occupied Jerusalem since the beginning of this year.

He added that the threat of forced eviction of families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood still exists, as 86 families are threatened with eviction in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, while 100 homes are threatened with demolition in the Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan.

During his meeting with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Palestine, Muhammad Abu Wendy, Al-Hadmi pointed to the dangerous escalation of demolitions of Palestinian homes, plans to evacuate other homes, arrests, and any attempt to impose new facts on the ground in the city.

In addition, he warned of the seriousness of the escalation of Israeli violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque, whether through incursions or orders to deport worshipers and mosque guards, and obstruction of restoration work in the mosque, in return for the continuation of Israeli excavations and the opening of tunnels in its vicinity, warning against the escalation of settlement construction in settlements built on the Palestinian lands.

It was stressed that the Israeli escalation requires the international community to move quickly to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and the Islamic and Christian holy sites to end the occupation.

Al-Hadmi thanked the Jordanian ambassador for what Jordan provided to the residents of Sheikh Jarrah of documents proving families' ownership of their homes, in addition to the strenuous Jordanian political movement in support of the Palestinian cause in general and Jerusalem in particular.
