Residents of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem are calling to participate in a protest in front of the houses threatened with eviction in the neighborhood, next Saturday, 6.00 PM- Palestine time.
The protest comes two days before a session in the Occupation High Court to consider the families' request for permission to appeal the decision to displace them.
A delegation of the heads of churches in Jerusalem, during their visit to the neighborhood last Wednesday, expressed solidarity with Sheikh Jarrah residents, who face the threat of forced eviction from their homes.
The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pier Battista Pizzaballa, affirmed that the heads of churches stand by the people of the neighborhood, pointing out that the churches reject any measure that weakens the chances of achieving peace and increases tension in the region.
