Study: 80% of Gaza residents live in darkness

A recent study conducted by the International Committee for the Red Crescent reported that 80% of the Gaza residents spend most of their times in the darkness, as they only have 10-12 hours of electricity a day.

The study considered this issue the greatest threat to the Gazans' health and enjoyment amid the high temperature.

It confirmed that most of persons who fell under the study cannot save food in the fridge.

It noted that the critic lack and ongoing electricity cut in Gaza left severe losses for the Gaza residents as the psychological health of 94% of those within the study was badly affected by this issue.

The latest Israeli aggression on Gaza in last May resulted in the destruction of infrastructure, which led to a big lack in the electricity supply system.

It also reported that at least a half million of the Gaza residents cannot handle the costs of electricity alternatives like motors. As a result, they tend to spend their days without electricity at all.
