Detainees Commission organizes peaceful protest in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails in Ramallah

The Commission of Detainees Affairs organized Tuesday a peaceful protest in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails in front of the International Committee for the Red Crescent in Ramallah.

Dozens of families, carrying their sons’ pictures, took part in the protest, and called for releasing the hunger-striking prisoners and the pregnant prisoner Anhar Al-Deek, who is expected to give birth to her new baby inside the prison in the coming days.

The Head of the Woman Affairs Amal Hamad said, during the protest, that Anhar Al-Deek was arrested while she was 4-months pregnant, and that she has to give birth to her baby in dignity outside the prisons.

Hamad called on the International Committee for the Red Crescent to take responsibilities for ending Israeli crimes, and forcing Israel to release the pregnant Anhar Al-Deek.

She considered what is happening with Al-Deek as a war crime and a violation of the simplest human rights.

She also called on the human rights organizations to press on Israel to release the pregnant Al-Deek, and said “Anhar is not just a word or a number. She is a real symbol of the Palestinian woman who has been struggling for months.”

She addressed the institutes, parties, and people to unit their efforts and raise their voices to release Al-Deek.
