Head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, has intensified contacts with many regional countries to release the Palestinian detainees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by the movement's former representative Dr. Muhammad Al-Khudari. These contacts included Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, the United Nations, and the Arab Emirates through some friends.
Pointing out their difficult health conditions in the Saudi Arabia's prison, Hamas chief provided the Secretary-General of the United Nations the names and information of all detainees hoping to release all detainees and end this case.
The top Hamas official received promises from these countries to address this issue, and confirmed that the movement will continue its political and diplomatic efforts to secure the release of all the detainees in the SA Kingdom and to permanently close this file.
In a related context, the Hamas movement continue its efforts to release the detained Palestinians in Libya, led by the movement’s representative, Marwan Al-Ashkar.
"We wish to close this painful file that has been going on for more than eight years that contradicts with Libya's history in support of the Palestinian cause and people", Haniyeh added.
