Abuse of Female Palestinian Prisoners in Damon Prison

The Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Affairs Authority has raised alarm over the increasing mistreatment of Palestinian female prisoners in Damon Prison. Female detainees face severe physical and psychological abuse, including threats of sexual violence, strip searches, beatings, and starvation.

The prison administration also withholds essential items like blankets, hygiene products, and medical care, while imposing collective punishment, including restricting access to showers and recreation areas. Prisoners' efforts to address their mistreatment are met with further abuse.

Currently, 89 female prisoners are held in Damon Prison, with many others from Gaza unaccounted for due to enforced disappearances. The Prisoners Club urges local and international bodies to unite in exposing these violations and ending the ongoing abuse.
