Shocking testimonies from lawyers have revealed the horrific conditions faced by ten detainees captured by Israeli forces during their attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. The detainees were subjected to inhumane treatment, including being placed in large holes and covered with dirt using bulldozers, simulating an attempt to bury them alive. They were then transported in trucks while enduring physical abuse, verbal insults, and beatings with batons. Once detained near the Gaza perimeter, they were forced to remain on their knees in freezing cold for prolonged periods.
The detainees were later transferred to the Sde Teiman military base, where they were held in a facility called "The Arch" for several days. They were handcuffed, blindfolded, denied food, water, and basic sanitation. Loud music was played continuously, causing severe discomfort. The authorities continued to deny medical treatment, with many detainees suffering from the effects of torture.
In a related report, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor revealed grave violations during the Israeli assault on Kamal Adwan Hospital, including field executions, sexual harassment, and the destruction of civilian homes using bomb-laden robots. Civilians, medical staff, and displaced persons were subjected to physical and sexual assaults, and Israeli forces carried out executions, even targeting civilians holding white flags. Patients and staff were forced to strip in freezing conditions and evacuated amid ongoing shelling.
The Ministry of Health has condemned the attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital, calling it a devastating blow to the healthcare system in northern Gaza and part of a broader plan to eliminate the population in the region.
