Health condition of Palestinian detainee in Israeli jails is critical

Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies warned of the serious condition of the Palestinian detainee Nidal Abu 'Ahour, from Bethlehem city, pointing out that he might meet the fate of Kamal Abu Waer, the latest Palestinian detainee to die in Israel's jails.

The center said in a statement, a copy of which received by SAFA, that Abu 'Ahour suffers from very difficult health conditions, as he is a patient of kidney cancer, in addition to having kidney failure for more than 10 years.

Moreover, the center considered detaining Abu 'Ahour despite his deteriorating health is a death sentence against him, and he might have the fate of Kamal Abu Waer, who died in the Israeli jail two weeks ago due to deliberate medical negligence.

It held the Israeli authorities full responsibility for his life as he has not received the necessary medical care, and he is subjected to medical negligence, calling for his immediate release before it is too late.

Abu 'Ahour, a father of seven, was detained last June from his home and moved to the Ramleh jail; he was released after a month due to his health condition.

He was re-arrested in late October and sentenced to a year despite the seriousness of his condition.
