Itamar Ben Gvir, leader of the far-right "Jewish Power" party, criticized the scenes of Israeli prisoner handovers in Gaza on Thursday, calling them a "complete failure" for Israel rather than a "total victory."
This came as Hamas and Islamic Jihad handed over three Israeli prisoners, in exchange for Israel releasing 111 Palestinian prisoners.
Ben Gvir condemned the deal, stating that it was a "reckless" failure.
He reiterated his stance of denying Gaza Palestinians humanitarian aid, fuel, and basic resources, urging Israel to crush them militarily until they beg for the return of hostages.
The handover took place amid large crowds in Gaza, with Al-Qassam Brigades mocking Israeli forces brigades involved in the assault on Gaza, through altered insignias at the handover sites.
The ceasefire agreement includes three phases, with negotiations mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the U.S.
