61,709 Dead in Gaza Genocide: Death Toll Nears 62,000

The Gaza government media office reports that 61,709 people have died in the Israeli genocidal war, with 14,222 missing persons presumed dead. Among the victims are 17,881 children, 214 newborns, and over 38,000 orphaned children. More than 6,000 Palestinians have been arrested, and over 2 million displaced.

The UN World Food Programme warns of Gaza’s immense needs, calling for large-scale humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, Turkish news agency Anadolu reported the recovery of 20 bodies of Palestinians killed by Israel in northern Gaza.

Israel's assault began on October 7, 2023, after a Palestinian resistance operation. Despite failing to meet its declared goals, Israel accepted a ceasefire on January 19. Since then, violations have continued. A Palestinian man was killed by Israeli gunfire on February 2, and another woman died after her home was bombed in Rafah.
