Médecins sans frontières (MSF) condemns the occupation's obstruction of healthcare in the West Bank.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) condemned the obstruction of healthcare in the occupied West Bank, stating that the healthcare system has been in a "permanent state of emergency" since October 2023.

The organization reported a dramatic escalation in violence, with prolonged Israeli military incursions and stricter movement restrictions severely hindering access to essential services, particularly healthcare, worsening the already dire living conditions for many Palestinians.

Since October 7, 2023, the World Health Organization has recorded 694 attacks on healthcare in the West Bank, with hospitals and medical facilities often under military siege. MSF linked these attacks to a broader pattern of systematic interference by Israeli forces and settlers in emergency healthcare delivery, describing it as part of a wider system of collective punishment under the guise of targeting Palestinian militants.

The Palestinian healthcare system, already strained, faces severe budget constraints, with half of essential medicines depleted and healthcare workers unpaid for a year. Access to healthcare is further obstructed by checkpoints and roadblocks, compounded by violent military raids and frequent attacks on medical staff and facilities.

MSF called on Israel to halt the disproportionate use of force, ensure independent investigations into attacks, facilitate medical aid access, and allow UNRWA to continue its operations.
