Prisoners’ Club: Health Conditions of Released Detainees Reflect Atrocities Endured in Israeli Prisons

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club has confirmed that many of the detainees released under the "Flood of the Free" exchange deal, as well as those freed after the genocide in Gaza, are suffering from severe health issues, with many requiring hospitalization. The organization highlighted the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, including torture, medical neglect, and deliberate starvation, as documented by various institutions and testimonies from released prisoners.

Systematic abuse, including brutal beatings and medical neglect, has left many detainees with chronic health problems, with some dying after their release, such as Farouq Al-Khatib and Ismail Taqatqa. The latest release of 183 prisoners underscores the dire health conditions of many detainees, reflecting the extent of their suffering in Israeli detention.

The Club emphasized that over 10,000 Palestinian prisoners remain in Israeli detention, with hundreds more from Gaza facing enforced disappearance. The longer prisoners remain in detention, the higher the risks to their lives. The Israeli occupation, it stated, continues to terrorize not only the detainees but also their families, subjecting them to threats, arrests, killings, and emotional manipulation regarding the fate of their loved ones.
