The Israeli municipality in Jerusalem demolished today a stairway near Al- Yusufiya cemetery leading to Al- Asbat Gate, one of Al-Aqsa Mosque's gates, eyewitnesses said.

Eyewitnesses said that an Israeli bulldozer demolished the stairs under the pretext that equipment had been brought into the Yusufiya cemetery adjacent to Bab al-Asbat cemetery, northeast of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

They added that the Israeli municipality began to build the cemetery's lands and put signs in the place. The aims of demolishing the stairs were not known, or what was happening in Bab al-Asbat area.
