Hamas Calls for Global Marches Against Israeli-US Ethnic Cleansing Plan

The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has called for global demonstrations and "solidarity marches" this weekend in response to the US-Israeli plan to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Hamas urged people worldwide to join mass protests in major capitals from Friday to Sunday, calling it a unified international response to the "ethnic cleansing" of Palestine. The group reiterated that the marches would be a demonstration of support for the Palestinian people's right to defend their land and their right to freedom, independence, and self-determination.

The call comes on the same day that Israel threatened to launch a new war against Hamas if all Israeli captives were not released by Saturday noon, as part of an ongoing fragile ceasefire agreement. Hamas, however, has refused to comply with these demands, insisting that Israel must first adhere to the terms of the ceasefire.

Since the ceasefire began on 19 January, which followed a brutal Israeli offensive killing more than 48,000 Palestinians, Israel has violated the truce by launching deadly attacks, blocking humanitarian aid, and preventing Palestinian movement within Gaza.

Additionally, Israel has intensified its attacks in the West Bank, resulting in over 900 Palestinian deaths and the displacement of 44,000 Palestinians, according to United Nations reports.
