Two new cancer patients in Israeli jails

The Detainees and Ex- Detainees Affairs Commission announced that two new cancer cases have been registered in the Israeli prisons, rising the number of cases among the prisoners to 10.

The commission’s spokesman, Hassan Abed Rabbo, stated that the two prisoners are: Nidal Abu Aahour (45 years) from Bethlehem, who suffers from kidney cancer after the occupation delayed his treatment from dialysis. He was the father of 7 children and was arrested on 23 Last June.

Meanwile, the prisoner Imad Abu Ramz (46 years), from Hebron, who suffers from a cancerous tumor, has been detained since 2004, and sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Abed Rabbo pointed out that the commission had called for the formation of a medical committee to visit the sick prisoners, and had contacted the Red Cross in order to provide the necessary treatment for people with cancer, since the prison administration deliberately check their health conditions.
