The Palestinian Center for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared has condemned Israel’s continued blockade of essential equipment needed to recover thousands of bodies trapped under Gaza’s rubble. Civil defense teams, working with basic tools, have retrieved around 750 victims, while over 8,000 remain buried, leaving families in agony.
The center warned that Israeli obstruction hinders not only recovery but also the identification of victims, denying families closure. It urged the international community to pressure Israel to allow the entry of heavy machinery and forensic teams.
Beyond delaying recovery, the blockade deepens Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, endangering residents and obstructing reconstruction. Without urgent international intervention, thousands will remain in limbo, their fate overshadowed by Israeli policies of obstruction.
