Israel’s Defence Minister, Yisrael Katz, has admitted that the occupation forcibly displaced residents from three West Bank refugee camps, barring them from returning. This policy aims to dismantle Palestinian resistance and erase their right of return.
Israeli warplanes, drones, and bulldozers have reduced Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps to rubble. Entire neighbourhoods have been levelled, forcing thousands into exile. Abu Jihad, a resident, described the destruction: “The camp is gone—only about 1,000 remain in unbearable conditions.”
At least 12,000 from Tulkarm and 11,000 from Nur Shams have been expelled. Homes, schools, and infrastructure have been destroyed, leaving residents homeless and cut off from basic services. The assault extends beyond the camps, with mass arrests and military takeovers of buildings.
The devastation mirrors Gaza’s destruction, yet the world remains silent. Palestinian refugees, displaced for generations, now face another forced expulsion, their future uncertain once again.
