Hamas Backs Ansarallah’s Ultimatum to Israel Over Gaza Siege

Hamas has welcomed the ultimatum issued by Yemen’s Ansarallah movement, which has given Israel four days to lift its blockade on humanitarian aid to Gaza or face renewed attacks on Israel-linked shipping. The Palestinian resistance group described the move as a reflection of Yemen’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

In a statement, Hamas praised Ansarallah’s firm stance, calling it an extension of Yemen’s steadfast support for Gaza since the beginning of Israel’s war on the enclave. “This courageous decision demonstrates the deep commitment of our Yemeni brothers to Palestine and Jerusalem. Their support has remained unwavering throughout the past 15 months of genocide in Gaza,” the statement read.

The group also condemned Israel’s continued restrictions on aid, denouncing it as a deliberate act of collective punishment aimed at starving the Palestinian population. Hamas urged the international community and Arab and Muslim nations to act decisively to break the siege and ensure aid reaches those in need.

Ansarallah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi announced the ultimatum on Friday, warning that if Israel failed to meet its obligations under ceasefire negotiations and continued to block humanitarian access, Yemen’s forces would resume naval operations against Israel-linked vessels. “We will not stand idly by while the Palestinian people are starved. We will respond to siege with siege,” he declared.

The ultimatum comes amid growing international alarm over Israel’s reimposition of a total blockade on Gaza, further tightening restrictions on desperately needed humanitarian supplies. While Western powers have remained largely silent on Israel’s actions, movements across the region continue to challenge Tel Aviv’s impunity, with Ansarallah positioning itself as a force willing to take direct action in defence of Palestinian rights.
