Gaza Under Siege: Israeli Aggression Enters Fourth Day Amid Humanitarian Catastrophe

For the fourth consecutive day, the Israeli occupation has intensified its assault on the Gaza Strip, shattering a fragile truce that had held for just 57 days since January 19, 2025. The renewed violence has left a trail of devastation, with over 65 Palestinians killed in airstrikes targeting residential areas in Rafah and Khan Younis. Many of the victims were women and children, overwhelming hospitals already struggling with severe shortages of medical supplies. This year, Mother’s Day, observed on March 21, 2025, has been marked by grief and loss as Israel’s brutal offensive continues unabated.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is deepening. Israeli airstrikes have destroyed homes, farmland, and critical infrastructure, including the Turkish Palestinian Friendship Hospital for Cancer Patients in Al-Zahraa. Displacement shelters have also been targeted, with a tent near Al-Da’wa College in Deir Al-Balah bombed, killing two people. The International Red Cross has warned that hospitals are in a state of emergency, with operating rooms overwhelmed and medical supplies running critically low. Civilians trapped in their homes and shelters are sending desperate distress calls, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.

Israeli forces have escalated ground operations, with tanks and artillery penetrating deep into Gaza’s residential areas. Heavy clashes have been reported in Beit Lahia, while tank shelling in Tel Al-Sultan and machine-gun fire in western Rafah have further endangered civilians. New evacuation orders have forced thousands to flee with nowhere safe to go. The blockade has cut off access to food, water, and fuel, leaving families struggling to survive and hospitals on the brink of collapse.

As the death toll rises, Palestinian voices are calling for an end to the violence and for accountability. The international community’s inaction, particularly from major powers like the United States, has drawn sharp criticism. Continued military and political support for Israel enables these atrocities to continue with impunity. The people of Gaza are enduring unimaginable suffering, with no end in sight to the violence. The world must act now to stop this aggression and hold those responsible to account before more lives are lost.
