Call to intervene to stop Israeli violations against Palestinian children

The Public Authority for Youth and Culture in Gaza, Saturday evening, called on all international human rights organizations and institutions to immediately and urgently intervene to stop the criminal violations of the Israeli forces against Palestinian children.

The authority commented on the Israeli killing of Ali Abu Alia, 13, who died yesterday by the Israeli forces bullets, “this heinous crime is added to the series of crimes and terrorism practiced by Israel against everything Palestinian without any regard for international conventions and norms."

"The Palestinian child is considered the most affected by the Israeli crimes and racist practices, as statistics indicate that 2,100 children have been martyred, and tens of thousands of them have been injured with permanent disabilities since 2000,” it added.

It is worth noting that more than 50,000 children have been arrested since 1967. That means Israel arrests 500-700 children annually, accompanying exposure of children to the worst forms of physical and psychological violence.

“The continued silence of international Human Rights organizations regarding these crimes gives Israel a green light to practice more killing, oppression, and intimidation against the Palestinians without deterrence,” The authority highlighted.

It demanded the duty-bearers to commitment their responsibilities, pay attention to the criminal attacks and violations that Palestinian children are subjected to, and to work to protect them and enable them to safely live and enjoy the freedom, just like the rest of the children around the world.
