Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil has condemned the Israeli assault on Gaza as nothing short of genocide, stressing that the situation in the besieged Strip is no longer sustainable and must be brought to an end. His remarks came during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in southern Turkey, where global leaders gathered to discuss pressing international crises.
Speaking to the press, Gil affirmed Venezuela’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination. “What is happening in Gaza cannot be called anything other than genocide,” he stated, highlighting the systematic destruction, mass displacement, and targeted killing of civilians since October 2023.
Gil also called for the immediate implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions concerning Palestine, many of which have long remained ignored. He reiterated Venezuela’s demand for international accountability and urgent action to stop the atrocities.
As global leaders continue to express concern, Gaza’s people wait—not just for statements, but for meaningful steps to end their suffering and uphold their rights in the face of overwhelming brutality.
