Gaza’s War Becomes a Lifeline for Israel’s Prime Minister

As Gaza bleeds under relentless airstrikes and blockade, voices from the Palestinian resistance are growing louder against what they describe as a war waged for political gain. Sami Abu Zuhri, senior official from the Hamas political bureau abroad, accused Israel’s Prime Minister of weaponising the Gaza war to save his political future.

“The resistance will not surrender,” he stated firmly, denouncing the ongoing siege and deliberate starvation tactics as tools of collective punishment. According to him, the movement remains committed to defending the rights of the Palestinian people and has welcomed every credible ceasefire proposal that met those needs.

But Netanyahu, Abu Zuhri argued, is not seeking peace. Rather, he is clinging to war as a lifeline, using the ongoing violence to avoid accountability and maintain power. The war, he said, has become an excuse to stall negotiations, sacrifice civilians, and claim he is protecting Israeli hostages.

He also condemned former U.S. President Donald Trump for his unwavering support of Israel’s military campaign, accusing him of complicity in the devastation of Gaza. “Netanyahu acts to save his political career, and Trump is his partner in this massacre,” he declared.

Turning to the broader region, Abu Zuhri criticised Arab governments for their silence and failure to break the siege. “Shame on you,” he said, “for allowing children to starve without even a bottle of water crossing into Gaza. Why do you bow to Netanyahu’s will?”

As the humanitarian catastrophe deepens, Palestinians continue to stand defiant — not only against missiles, but against the global silence that allows the war to rage on.
