Palestinian Cinema Night at Ciné Malouine in Saint-Malo-de-Guersac

On Friday, April 25, 2025, Ciné Malouine in Saint-Malo-de-Guersac will host a special Palestinian cinema evening in collaboration with the Comité Solidarité Palestine from Saint-Nazaire and the AFPS 44 (France Palestine Solidarity Association). The event will feature the screening of two impactful films, with a break in between for a light refreshment prepared by Les saveurs de l'Atlas.

The evening will begin at 6:30 PM with A Doctor for Peace, a documentary about Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, the first Palestinian doctor to work in an Israeli hospital. The film follows his journey after his home was bombed in 2009, resulting in the tragic deaths of his three daughters and a niece. Despite his immense personal loss, Dr. Abuelaish continues to advocate for peace and reconciliation, earning him five Nobel Peace Prize nominations.

The second film, Songe by Rashid Masharawi, will be shown at 8:30 PM. The story follows 12-year-old Sami as he embarks on a journey through the Palestinian territories in search of his elusive homing pigeon. This symbolic quest reflects hope and the strength of the human spirit. Tickets for both films and refreshments are priced at €12, with individual film tickets available at regular rates.
