Crippled by Airstrikes, Gaza’s Health System Nears Total Collapse

Gaza’s healthcare system is teetering on the brink of total collapse, with the Health Ministry confirming the closure of Al-Durra Children’s Hospital following a devastating Israeli airstrike. The facility, which once provided critical care to children in Gaza City, has been rendered non-operational, leaving families desperate and the wounded without refuge.

Al-Durra is now one of 38 hospitals in Gaza forced out of service, as relentless bombardment continues to target infrastructure essential to civilian survival. Medical teams, already stretched beyond capacity, face unbearable choices as they operate in makeshift clinics with dwindling supplies and no guarantee of safety.

The Health Ministry has issued an urgent appeal to the international community, urging immediate intervention to halt attacks on medical facilities and deliver life-saving aid. As the siege tightens and humanitarian conditions deteriorate, Gaza’s doctors and nurses remain on the frontlines—not only of war, but of a battle to preserve life against all odds.
