The last remaining large-scale food provider in Gaza, World Central Kitchen, has been forced to shut down after exhausting its supplies, leaving millions teetering on the brink of starvation. With the Strip under full Israeli blockade for over two months, the closure marks yet another devastating blow to a population already ravaged by siege, displacement, and bombardment.
Palestinian families, especially those living in makeshift camps, had depended on WCK’s daily meals to survive. Now, with border crossings still sealed and humanitarian convoys halted, hunger has become a daily torment. UN agencies warn that Gaza has entered a phase of “post-catastrophe”, where famine is no longer a threat—it is the current reality.
For 67 days, Israel has denied the entry of food, medicine, and aid while continuing its military assault. Gaza’s Ministry of Health reports that over 90% of the population faces extreme food insecurity, and widespread malnutrition is now visible in children across the Strip.
The international community continues to issue statements, but Palestinians are asking how many more must starve before the world acts.
