Gaza Faces Engineered Starvation as World Watches in Silence

In Gaza, hunger has become a weapon more deadly than bombs. Amid the ongoing Israeli assault and total blockade, malnutrition and disease are now claiming lives faster than missiles. Children waste away for lack of milk, the elderly collapse from dehydration, and hospitals—overwhelmed, underpowered, and starved of supplies—are forced to watch patients die slowly.

Over two million Palestinians remain trapped in a territory deliberately cut off from food, medicine, and clean water. What international agencies describe as “catastrophic famine” is not a consequence of war—it is part of it. Gaza is being starved, systematically and in full view of the world.

The death of four-month-old Jenan Saleh al-Sakkafi is only the latest heartbreak in what rights groups call the most extensive starvation campaign in modern history. These are not natural deaths. They are the direct result of an imposed siege, described by legal experts and human rights monitors as a breach of international humanitarian law—and a key feature of a war they now define as genocidal. Palestinians are not dying because aid cannot reach them. They are dying because it is being blocked.
