Children in Gaza are now staring death in the face as famine looms, warns UNICEF, amid the collapse of the healthcare system and a brutal siege that has choked off food, water, and medicine for over two months. Executive Director Catherine Russell described the crisis as entirely man-made, calling urgently for a ceasefire and immediate humanitarian access.

Israel’s relentless blockade has crippled life in Gaza for 71 consecutive days, with no let-up in bombardment. Since the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement on 18 March, the aggression has intensified, driving 2.25 million Palestinians further into despair.
