Red Cross: Gaza on the Brink as Humanitarian Collapse Deepens

The International Committee of the Red Cross has warned that conditions in Gaza have become catastrophic, calling for an immediate ceasefire and urgent humanitarian access to the besieged population.

After 71 days of renewed Israeli aggression and blockade, more than two million Palestinians are trapped in what the ICRC describes as a “devastating” crisis. Hospitals are overwhelmed, bakeries have been closed for over a month, and the threat of famine is growing by the day.

ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric urged the international community to act swiftly, insisting that “all limits have been crossed.” Her call comes as airstrikes continue to pound Gaza and aid remains deliberately restricted, deepening a crisis that Palestinians have long described as genocidal in scale and intent.

As the siege tightens and the death toll rises, the need for genuine political will — not more statements — has never been more urgent.
