The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has condemned what it calls one of the most extensive and deadly Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip since the war began, warning that the campaign reflects a deliberate and systematic policy of extermination against the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued Friday, the rights group accused Israel of pursuing a scorched earth strategy, deliberately flattening entire neighbourhoods and infrastructure to erase any prospect of return for displaced Palestinians. More than 115 civilians were killed in just 12 hours, according to field reports, as relentless bombardments struck homes in Jabalia and Beit Lahia, leaving scores trapped beneath the rubble.
The organisation documented direct attacks on civilians attempting to flee, including women and children, and noted that occupation forces were intentionally completing the destruction of already-damaged buildings in Khan Younis and Rafah, aided by Israeli civilian companies. This, it said, is part of a calculated plan to wipe out entire Palestinian cities.
The Monitor emphasised that the sheer scale of destruction, particularly in areas with no evident military presence, reveals that civilians are the intended targets. It described the operations as a realisation of statements made by the Israeli leadership, including explicit calls to level Gaza and expel its population—constituting, in their view, acts of genocide.
The organisation urged the International Criminal Court to act without delay and issue arrest warrants for Israeli officials, stressing that the world must recognise what is happening in Gaza for what it is: a crime of genocide unfolding in real time.
