Israeli Forces Disguised as Women Kill Civilians in Khan Younis Raid

In a chilling episode that further underscores the brutality of the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza, residents of Khan Younis reported a covert operation early Monday involving Israeli undercover forces disguised in women’s clothing. The unit, part of the notorious “Mista’arvim”—trained to impersonate Palestinians—reportedly infiltrated the city aboard a civilian vehicle posing as a bus carrying displaced families.

According to eyewitnesses, the unit stormed a home in the Al-Mahatta neighbourhood and executed a man identified as Ahmed Kamel Sarhan. His wife and child were abducted. As the force retreated, another child was shot and killed. Israeli airstrikes—over 30 within just 40 minutes—pounded the area to secure the withdrawal, unleashing terror and leaving dozens dead or wounded.

Locals described the moment a white bus, loaded with personal belongings to mimic displaced civilians, pulled into the street. Nine individuals, all dressed as women—some veiled, others not—descended and made their way directly to Sarhan’s home. Minutes later, gunfire erupted, followed by an aerial onslaught that shook the neighbourhood.

A drone strike during the retreat reportedly killed six more civilians nearby. Remnants left behind included bullet casings, smoke grenades, and women’s clothing—evidence of the deception that masked a deadly assault.

Israeli media later admitted the operation failed to meet its objectives, with some commentators questioning the necessity of a high-risk raid when airstrikes could have been used instead. The stated goal, according to Israeli sources, had been to arrest a Palestinian figure believed to hold information on captives.

For Palestinians, however, the operation is yet another terrifying reminder of the violence and deception that have become hallmarks of life under siege. The use of disguises, the killing of civilians in their homes, and the sheer disregard for human life have deepened a sense of outrage and helplessness. Gaza, once again, is forced to bury its dead while the world looks on.
