Drone Strike on Unarmed Palestinian Highlights Gaza’s Daily Horror

A Palestinian man was killed by an Israeli drone strike this morning as he left his home in Shuja’iyya, east of Gaza City, carrying food for his family. The attack, captured on video, shows the young man—unarmed and holding only a small bag—targeted and killed instantly, in a scene that has left many shaken.

The footage offers a chilling glimpse into the everyday terror faced by civilians in Gaza. It is painfully clear the man posed no threat. He was simply navigating the rubble of his neighbourhood to gather supplies for his loved ones, an act of survival now met with lethal force.

Shuja’iyya has become one of the most devastated areas in Gaza. Entire blocks lie in ruins, families are scattered, and ambulances often fail to reach the wounded in time due to ongoing bombardments. Today’s incident is not isolated but emblematic of a broader pattern of destruction.

Since October, Gaza has been engulfed in a war marked by relentless airstrikes, a suffocating blockade, and a humanitarian collapse. More than 175,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded—most of them women and children—while thousands remain missing. Food is scarce, medical supplies have vanished, and entire communities have been erased.

With military backing from its allies, Israel continues this campaign under the guise of defence. But for the people of Gaza, survival has become a daily act of defiance—and even that, it seems, is now punishable by death.
