Israeli occupation forces carried out yet another brutal attack on starving civilians in Gaza early Monday, gunning down 20 Palestinians and wounding over 200 as they gathered near an aid distribution point in Rafah.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported: "The Red Cross Hospital has received an initial toll of 20 martyrs and more than 200 wounded, with at least 50 in critical condition, following yet another massacre by the occupation forces targeting civilians seeking humanitarian aid."
The ministry added that Israeli military vehicles also opened fire near the Red Cross field hospital in Khan Younis’ Al-Mawasi area, putting patients and medical staff at grave risk.
Condemning the relentless targeting of civilians and medical facilities, officials demanded immediate international intervention to reopen the besieged European Gaza Hospital, as remaining healthcare centres are overwhelmed. They also called for safer aid distribution methods to prevent further bloodshed.
Since late May, at least 300 Palestinians have been killed and 2,649 injured while attempting to access food from so-called "aid corridors" controlled by Israeli forces.
The massacre comes as the occupation enters its 91st day of renewed genocide, following the collapse of a fragile ceasefire in March. Since October 2023, Israel’s assault has killed or maimed over 180,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, with thousands more missing and a man-made famine ravaging the Strip.
