The death toll from malnutrition in Gaza has tragically risen to 66 children, a grim testament to the devastating impact of Israel’s tightened siege and closure of crossings, which block the entry of milk, nutritional supplements, and vital food supplies. The Palestinian Government Media Office condemned this as a deliberate war crime and crime against humanity, accusing Israel of weaponising starvation to exterminate civilians in blatant violation of international law.
The ongoing humanitarian catastrophe continues unchecked, with the international community largely silent as Gaza’s youngest succumb to hunger, disease, and slow death. The Media Office held Israel, and its key supporters, including the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany, responsible for complicity in this unfolding genocide.
Urgent calls have been made for the United Nations and Arab and Islamic nations to pressure for the immediate reopening of crossings to deliver food and medical aid. Without swift intervention, many more lives hang in the balance.
WHO reports that since the start of the year, 112 Palestinian children are hospitalised daily for malnutrition-related illnesses. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described Gaza’s situation as “beyond catastrophic,” warning that the siege continues to push over two million Palestinians into an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
