Human Rights Group Applauds Swiss Move to Dissolve Controversial Gaza Aid Foundation

The Protection Center for Human Rights has welcomed the Swiss Federal Supervisory Authority for Charities’ decision to disband the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” citing its grave violations in Gaza that led to hundreds of civilian deaths and thousands injured while seeking aid.

The centre had lodged a formal complaint in mid-June, backed by international legal experts, urging Swiss authorities to investigate the foundation for breaches of international humanitarian law and crimes against humanity. Evidence presented detailed how the foundation politicised and militarised aid delivery, undermining core humanitarian principles and endangering the very people it claimed to help.

Since late May, the Israeli occupation’s strategy of funneling limited assistance through this foundation has coincided with Israeli forces firing on Palestinians queuing for food and supplies, forcing them into an impossible choice between starvation and violence.

International bodies, including the United Nations and prominent NGOs, have distanced themselves from the foundation over concerns about its partiality and methods.

The Protection Center vowed to continue legal action against those responsible, seeking justice through both Swiss courts and the International Criminal Court, underscoring the urgent need to end impunity and reinforce international accountability for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
