Ibrahim Hajjaj, a Palestinian photojournalist, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City’s Al-Daraj neighbourhood early Wednesday, alongside several civilians, local medical officials confirmed. Dozens more were wounded in the attack, which targeted a residential area.
Hajjaj, a father of three, becomes the latest media worker to die in Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza. The Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate stated his death brings the number of journalists killed since October to 235, accusing Israeli forces of deliberately targeting the press to suppress coverage of the assault on Gaza.
The same day, at least 73 Palestinians were reported killed across the enclave, with many more injured, including civilians awaiting humanitarian aid. The Syndicate condemned what it described as a “systematic campaign of field executions” against journalists and urged international intervention to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
As casualties mount, Palestinian voices continue to demand justice, while global calls for a ceasefire and independent investigations into alleged war crimes grow louder.
