Lack of life necessities in Palestinian refugees in Syria

Palestinian and Syrian families displaced from southern Damascus and camps of Khan Alsheh and Alyarmouk to camps of Deir Ballut and Almahmadeia suffer from lack of heating materials and relief assistance.

Families in the camps have not received any firewood or heavy oil for two months from any commission or relief organization, according to Act Group for Palestinians of Syria.

It also mentioned that families of the camps buy wood in order to warm their children. (a kilo of wood equals 250 SYP; a family needs 10 kg of wood a day because of the freezing cold in the camps). Hence, this constitutes a financial burden on the families under the unavailability of a constance source of money.

Besides, the act group documented the arrest of 98 Palestinian refugees in Halab between March, 2011-December, 2020. It also documented the number of refugees in the regime’s prisons as a result of the torture and violence against the detainees.

In Neirab camp in Halab, refugee families complain from the crisis of transportation in which they have to wait for long hours until the bus comes, the act group mentioned.

Hence, the Act group of Palestinians of Syria called to find radical solutions for this crisis, which plague students of schools and universities.

Activists of Neirab camp noted that transportation crisis has been an obsession for the families because of the very long hours they waited for in the morning, low temperatures and overcrowdings.
