Gaza has once again been plunged into bloodshed as Israeli forces intensified air and artillery strikes across the enclave, targeting civilians, homes, and displaced families. On the 680th day of the ongoing assault, the humanitarian crisis has reached unprecedented levels, with hospitals overwhelmed and survivors trapped under rubble or in mass graves.
According to the Ministry of Health, since October 7, 2023, more than 61,800 Palestinians have been killed and over 155,000 wounded. Following the collapse of the March 18, 2025 truce, 10,300 more have died and 43,234 injured, with thousands still missing or held in enforced disappearances.
Recent attacks include the bombing of a tent in Khan Younis’ Mawasi area, killing Yousef Mu’tasim Shaheen al-Batta and his wife, and a strike in Bureij refugee camp that wiped out the Ghanem family, including three children. Residential buildings in northern Khan Younis were demolished, and simultaneous strikes hit eastern Bureij, as military vehicles and artillery fired on neighborhoods across the Strip.
Once again, Gaza’s civilians, whether sheltering in tents or homes, faced indiscriminate violence. With no safe humanitarian corridors and ongoing bombardments, the enclave remains trapped in a cycle of death and destruction, a stark testament to the scale and relentlessness of the assault.
