Home Demolished in Al-Rashayida as Pressure Mounts on Bethlehem’s Eastern Villages

Israeli forces demolished a residential structure in the village of Al-Rashayida, east of Bethlehem, on Thursday, leaving yet another family stripped of shelter. Troops stormed the area and tore down the room, which belonged to Ali Mohammed Rashayida, in what locals described as part of a wider pattern of harassment aimed at making life untenable for residents.

The eastern Bethlehem region has long faced waves of demolitions, eviction orders and restrictions that steadily erode daily life. Each demolition carries a message beyond the rubble it leaves behind: that the presence of Palestinian families on their own land remains under constant threat.

Residents warn that such actions are not isolated, but part of a systematic effort to force communities into displacement. As homes fall and notices mount, the struggle to remain rooted in their land grows ever more difficult, turning the right to shelter into a daily act of resistance.
