The Israeli Occupation Forces have issued a new mass evacuation order, warning Gaza residents that any delay could endanger their lives. The directive instructs civilians to leave via al-Rashid Street and move to the so-called “humanitarian zone” in al-Mawasi, an area already overcrowded and under continuous Israeli bombardment.
This announcement comes amid a sharp escalation of Israeli military operations targeting civilian infrastructure, hospitals, and residential buildings. Gaza City, home to nearly one million people, faces worsening shortages of food, water, and essential services, while repeated threats of forced displacement compound the humanitarian catastrophe. Many residents, exhausted by cycles of displacement and trauma, view the evacuation as both inevitable and futile.
Humanitarian organisations have warned that al-Mawasi is ill-equipped to absorb a large influx of displaced people, remaining dangerously exposed to airstrikes. Civilians express growing despair and distrust, with repeated “safe zone” promises failing to provide real protection. The latest order marks a further step in a broader campaign aimed at seizing Gaza City, displacing its population, and exacerbating the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
