Since the start of this year, Israeli forces have issued around 800 orders for demolitions, land confiscations, and construction halts across the occupied West Bank. The measures form part of a wider campaign of dispossession that runs in parallel with the war and starvation policies inflicted on Gaza.
Alongside these orders, nearly a thousand military checkpoints now divide the West Bank from Jenin to Hebron, tightening restrictions on movement and deepening daily hardship. At the same time, settlement expansion continues at pace, with 198 settlements now dominating the landscape, many of them transformed into city-sized structures. Outposts in Area C, which makes up more than half of the West Bank, are rapidly consolidated into permanent settlements, accelerating the annexation process.
Jerusalem remains at the heart of this strategy. Families are forced to carry out “self-demolitions” under threat of financial penalties, while settler incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the seizure of Palestinian homes continue to escalate. Behind each demolition lies a family uprooted, behind each land order a community stripped of its future.
