The number of Palestinian martyrs who died as a result of being targeted by the Israeli forces in 2020 was 48, including 2 women and 8 children, reported the Families of Martyrs Association.

The Secretary-General of the Association, Muhammad Sobeihat, said in an annual report issued on Saturday that despite the difficult circumstances the world went through during the past year, including Palestine, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Israeli forces continued the attacks against Palestinians.

Sobeihat emphasized that the martyrs were civilians, including women and children, in addition to a person with a disability.

According to the report, 36 martyrs were from the West Bank and 12 from the Gaza Strip. The youngest martyr was Ali Ayman Abu Alya (13 years old), who was killed on December 4, 2020, in Al Mughayir village in Ramallah, while the oldest martyr was Saadi Al-Gharabli (75 years), from Al-Shijaia city in the Gaza strip, who died in Israeli prison due to medical negligence.

The report highlighted the number of the bodies of the martyrs detained by the Israeli authorities during the past year reached 13, bringing the number of the bodies detained by Israel during the last five years to 73, in addition to the 254 bodies kept since 1968, rising the total number to 327.
